Wet weather, wet dog.
Apart from routine baths, most dogs aren’t in frequent contact with water. However, the colder, rainiest months do see an increase in exposure, resulting in wet and subsequently stinky coats! Whilst the dry weather has become an almost distant memory, the dog walks inevitably continue. This means the notorious ‘wet dog’ smell rears its head far more often than we’d like! You’re probably wondering just how to get rid of wet dog smells and what is the best dog smell remover? Luckily, PowAir have your back! Continue reading to find out more about our dog odour eliminator.
What causes the ‘wet dog’ smell?
In order to prevent your dog’s skin from dehydrating, oil collects on both the hair shafts and follicles. Once the coat becomes wet, the oil mixes with the water along with naturally occurring microbes. As a result , this will lead to the unpleasant ‘wet dog’ smell. Whilst the cause itself is non-preventable, the good news is that you can tackle the resulting smelly odours.

Hi Margaret
Whilst we don’t actively promote or recommend our products to be used this way specifically; our products are made up of natural ingredients and as such, we can’t see any reasons as to why they could not be; and we are aware of a number of our customers using our products this way.
However, we wouldn’t recommend this as a permanent replacement for regular bathing; but rather as a more convenient solution in ‘emergency’ situations. (I.e. rolling in fox poo, sewerage, rotten fish). It’s important to add that, like humans, dogs can also suffer from allergies and it would therefore be at the owners’ discretion; taking into consideration any known allergies or sensitivities.
Hope this helps!
